Nigerian jets have bombarded positions of the Boko Haram group in the northeastern state of Borno. The military broadcast on Tuesday images of these air strikes.
The air force says it killed several terrorists during these operations without giving their exact number.
According to its commander and spokesman Famuyiwa Ayodele, the strikes targeted jihadist positions in the towns of Kadari, Ngoshe and Kangarwa in the Borno region.
The military said the operations were carried out from 16 to 19 November thanks to the surveillance and reconnaissance videos of the army which had located the militants positions.
Several Islamists had taken refuge at a terrorist camp located in Malkonori in northeastern Nigeria, after Kangarwa was destroyed by bombings.
In recent months, Nigeria’s army has gradually regained control of the areas controlled by the Islamist sect Boko Haram.
The militant group has been seeking to establish an Islamic caliphate in north east Nigeria.
Its seven year old insurgency has led to the deaths of up to 20,000 people and left another two million more displaced.
